Short Biography of Martin Pleass

Martn is a musician and singer/songwriter from the Wirral Peninsula in England. As a player in bands (guitars, keyboards and banjo) Martin has been in demand on the local Liverpool scene and further a field in a remarkably varied career.
In possession of a big voice in the great tradition of British rock, Martin accompanies this with a unique and versatile skill on a bewildering range on instruments that defies categorisation but is always in demand.
Tour work with bands add up to dozens of visits to Ireland, Holland, U.S.A., Norway, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland playing rock, blues and traditional music with his own personal slant.
As a theatre musician Martin has worked on projects in the West End of London and a stint with the Who's Pete Townshend on his Iron Man project. Martin has made live solo appearances on BBC 1 TV, Granada TV (Uk) and taped shows for Irish T.V.Chicago cable networks. Radio shows and interviews range from local BBC to dozens of stations around the festivals in Europe that Martin has often appeared at. As a session musician Martin has recorded music used for film and television on guitars, banjo and mandolin. Rare appearances in the dance charts and bootleg live gig CD's are not unknown
Martin is also a busy guitar teacher of many styles, rock, blues and classical. As a visitor to primary schools in the Northwest of England Martin is known to thousands of children as "The Didgeridoo Man As well as band work Martin is the writer of original songs and music. His main release to date is "Water's Edge" a groundbreaking and highly original collection of songs and instrumentals recorded at the water's edge in various locations on beaches in the Caribbean.
Featuring the mountain dulcimer and steel guitars, Martin unleashed the full force of his creativity to complete a work that has no parallel. Embracing traditional and contemporary styles, Martin weaves rhythmic grooves (Fishtail, Bahamian Rhapsody) with songs that are both atmospheric and personal. (Guardian Angel, I'll have to wait). Across all twelve tracks can be heard the ocean, birds and insects that make this album an unforgettable listening experience.
